Dee Dee's gone to Davie
Shawn with Charlie (left) and new family member Dee Dee ---------- |
Shawn lost her older hound a couple weeks ago and had decided she needed to fill the empty space in her home with another. She called Michelle on Sunday, and they quickly agreed that Dee Dee would be a good fit in Shawn's home.
Dee Dee had been spending her days in the FoG permanent residence with Michelle and Jerry D.'s house dogs, sleeping overnights in the guest kennels. Michelle had planned to get Dee Dee's vet work done this week but decided to get her Shawn immediately. Dee Dee will get a few days to get accustomed to her new home before Michelle picks her up for her vet visit later in the week.
Dee Dee has a nice backyard to share with her 4-year-old brother, Charlie, a bundle of love Shawn adopted from FoG a couple years ago. They also will share the house with Fencey, a feline sister Shawn found hanging around on her fence.

Dee Dee's departure leaves the FoG kennels at half-capacity for a couple of days. Looking for homes at the moment are three black females -- Frozen, Fufu and Stormy -- and fawn male Logan.
Kelly, another black female who arrived at FoG from Hialeah on Sunday, spent her day Monday at Animal Hospital of University Drive having a broken leg repaired. She'll need some time to heal but will be looking for a family soon.
And Michelle plans to drive to Hialeah on Wednesday to pick up a couple of males. I'll provide the lowdown on them after I get a chance to meet them.
