An old friend returns

Dusty was feeling a little restless this morning. Here she is not-so-patiently waiting for me to finish my coffee:

We had been hunkered down for a couple of days waiting out some nasty thunderstorms and flooded streets. We finally dried out today, so I put her in the Kia Koach to take her for a play date with her Friends of Greyhounds buddies.

We got to see an old friend when we got there. Annie, a beautiful little fawn girl a couple weeks short of 3 years old, came back to FoG a couple days ago. She went to a home in Coral Springs earlier this year, but she had some issues with the family's other dog that couldn't be resolved. So she's back looking for another family to take her in.

Annie is on an antibiotic treatment fighting a urinary infection, and she should be fine in a week or so. I'm guessing her illness was probably the reason she's been cranky. She tested cat-tolerant awhile back, so once she's back to full health, she should be a perfect pet for someone.

Annie's return brings the FoG guest roster up to six -- four males and two females. Kango still will be around for a couple of weeks while his future family is on a vacation trip. Taylor has an appointment in a couple weeks with the orthopedic surgeon, who wants to see if his bad leg can be fixed.

If you want to meet one or more of the hounds, contact Michelle to make an appointment for a visit.

Michelle will be back at the west Boca Pet Supermarket, 9798 Glades Road, with a couple of the dogs Saturday afternoon. They'll be there 2:30-5 p.m. Dusty and I will drop in at some point. Stop by and say hello if you're in the area.

16mm Disney print
'Greta the Misfit Greyhound'
----------
Know a Disney expert? Michelle has a 16mm print of "Greta the Misfit Greyhound," an episode of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color that aired in February 1963. It's on two reels, which are in their original Disney-branded canisters and transport cases. She wants to sell it, but has no idea what it might be worth.

I've found a Facebook group for people buying and selling vintage Disney collectibles, but I can't find anything similar listed for comparison. Nor am I having much luck comparison-shopping on eBay or any of the other usual haunts.

We can't find too much information other than the original air date. If you are an expert on Disney memorabilia or know someone who is, please contact Michelle or me. We'd love to get an expert appraisal of this thing.

Comments

  1. Thank you for the heads-up. That was very helpful. I generally don't read the comments on the YouTube videos. Sometimes, as in this case, they can be quite useful.
